Owners/Artisans: Michael Whalen and Lynda Apple
InConcrete has been designing concrete elements in northern Arizona since 2005. Michael and Lynda are a husband and wife team who have trained and collaborated throughout the country with some of the best decorative concrete artisans known.
Lynda's background includes project management for custom home building as well as design and a degree in Chemistry. On the side she enjoys lots of skiing, emergency medicine, rafting, and enjoying Flagstaff's beautiful surroundings.
Michael - lovingly referred to as "Whalen," is an artist, craftsman, and carpenter as well as a Colorado River guide. On the side, Whalen makes jewelry that is popular with local and visiting skiers and river runners. Previous to InConcrete, he ran the three-generation family moving business for 10 years. A VERY valuable skill to help determine the best ways to handle your custom concrete design elements!
InConcrete got started when a client was looking for something different than the traditional granite countertop. It happened that Lynda and Whalen were looking for something creative they could do together as husband and wife - and business partners. Lynda did her homework and got so excited she hiked the Grand Canyon to visit Whalen on the river and tell him all about it.
"I found what we can do together..." and the rest is history.
